A Paducah man wanted in connection with a fatal shooting outside a local bar last month was arrested Monday night in Louisville after allegedly firing gunshots at police pursuing him.

Tracell Nunn, 27, is charged with murder, attempted murder, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and being a persistent felony offender.

Police allege Nunn, Christopher Smith, 34, and Denzel Powell, 23, also of Paducah, killed Gary Johnson, 46, outside The Brickhouse on April 16. Smith and Powell were previously arrested and charged.

Paducah police said the Louisville Metro Police Department found Nunn during a traffic stop for expired registration at 10:25 p.m. Monday.

Louisville officers said they talked with the vehicle's driver and were walking back to their police cruiser when Nunn jumped from the vehicle's backseat and fled into a wooded area. Officers said they believe Nunn fired two shots at them, but police did not return fire.

Nunn was arrested about an hour after the pursuit began with the help of K9 units. He was taken a Louisville area hospital for treatment of a dog bite and jailed.

He was arrested on Paducah warrants, and charged additionally by Louisville authorities on counts of attempted murder of a police officer and possession of marijuana.

Smith is charged with attempted murder and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. Powell is charged with murder.
