The reward for information leading to the safe return of Mollie Tibbetts, the 20-year-old University of Iowa student who disappeared from Brooklyn, Iowa on July 18, has skyrocketed to $30,000.
This week, Tibbetts’ family set up a reward fund at First State Bank, 104 Jackson St., in Brooklyn. The family said donations can be made directly to the fund in person, by mail or via wire. All donations must come with a donation agreement form.
Tibbetts was reported missing July 19 when she did not show up for work. She was last seen the night before while running through the town wearing black running shorts, a pink or red running top and running shoes.
Since her disappearance, investigators said they have run down more than 200 leads and searched numerous areas in or around Brooklyn.
Anyone with information regarding Tibbetts’ disappearance or her whereabouts is asked to contact the Poweshiek County Sheriff’s Office at (641) 623-5679 or email tips@poweshiekcosheriff.com. Dedicated tips lines have also been set up at (800) 452-1111 and (515) 223-1400.
